The short version

This site has no user accounts and no sign-up forms. We don't ask for your name or email. The only data involved is a theme preference saved in your own browser, standard hosting logs, and the cookies used by our advertising partner to serve ads.

Who we are

The Coding Cabana Game Jam ("we", "us") operates thecodingcabanagamejam.com, the home of our community game jams. You can reach us through the Contact page.

What we collect

• Theme preference. Your light/dark choice is stored in your browser's local storage. It stays on your device and is never sent to us.
• Server logs. Like almost every website, our hosting provider records standard technical logs (such as IP address, browser type, and pages requested) for security and operations.
• Nothing else. We don't currently run analytics. If that changes, this policy will be updated before anything is collected.

Advertising & cookies

We use Google AdSense to serve ads on this site. Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this website and other websites. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visits to this site and/or other sites on the internet.

You can opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings. You can opt out of many other third-party vendors' use of cookies for personalized advertising at aboutads.info/choices.

Where required by law, you will be shown a consent message before advertising cookies are set, and you can change your choice at any time.

Third-party services

Pages on this site load fonts from Google Fonts, which means your browser sends a standard request (including your IP address) to Google when a page loads. Links to Discord and itch.io take you to those platforms, where their own privacy policies apply.

Children

Our jams require participants to be at least 13 years old, and this site is not directed at children under 13. We don't knowingly collect personal information from children under 13; if you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we'll delete it.

Your choices

You can clear or block cookies and local storage through your browser settings at any time. Doing so may reset your theme preference and affect how ads are personalized, but the site will keep working.

Changes to this policy

If we change how the site handles data, we'll update this page and adjust the effective date above.
